November 2009: "Jumpstart and Holler"
Our first Museum Exhibition
In November Cannonball Press had a Retrospective called "Jumpstart and Holler" at the Taubman Museum in Roanoke, Virginia. The exhibit showcased a new series of recently created works based on the theme of the beggar in modern society. It took the form of a “tent city” with 18 camping tents spanning the gallery floor, the surface area of each tent hand printed and stitched, creating a homage to the inventiveness of the disposed and a critique of the effects of our present day economy....
In addition the walls were covered with previously created works, including large format collaged banners of woodcuts on canvas, 4' x 8' prints, and hundreds of 18" x 24" works of Cannonball Press artists that have been published over the last ten years.November 20th, 2009 through January 7th, 2010.
